Call to Maturity

1 Corinthians‬ ‭3‬:‭1‬-‭3‬ ‭
“Dear brothers and sisters, when I was with you I couldn’t talk to you as I would to spiritual people. I had to talk as though you belonged to this world or as though you were infants in Christ. I had to feed you with milk, not with solid food, because you weren’t ready for anything stronger. And you still aren’t ready, for you are still controlled by your sinful nature. You are jealous of one another and quarrel with each other. Doesn’t that prove you are controlled by your sinful nature? Aren’t you living like people of the world?”

Beloved, understand that there are things that manifest in the natural that parallel what’s happening in the spirit realm! Let’s look at the signs of consuming too much milk.

Digestive issues- this means when you try and eat something with more substance you have a hard processing it… in the spirit when someone tries to feed you the meat of the Word you cannot handle it!

Tired and lethargic- milk contains a lot of sugar, and will put you to sleep… in the spirit you struggle to be watchful, you get bored easily, when you try and read scripture you find yourself nodding off!

Acne/skin diseases- When you constantly feed your body something that it can't tolerate, it can lead to inflammation. And that inflammation will manifest itself in different ways—one of which is through your skin… in the spirit, leprosy (a skin disease) is symbolic of sin, too much milk leads to a lack of conviction, repentance and spiritual growth!

Decreased bone mass- although calcium helps strengthen bones, because milk can also cause inflammation, there is research suggesting that consuming too much milk can actually make your bones brittle and more fragile… in the spirit you will be weak and unable to stand!

Heart disease- drinking too much milk was related to an increased risk of death and in men and women as well as an increased risk of cardiovascular disease… in the spirit a diseased heart is a wrong mindset, one that’s confused, tormented and double-minded. We need a well balanced diet that is deep in Truth to keep our hearts healthy!!!

It’s time to mature Saints!!!

"Therefore lay aside all filthiness and overflow of wickedness, and receive with meekness the implanted word, which is able to save your souls." (James 1:21)
