Therefore that disciple whom Jesus loved said to Peter, “It is the Lord!” Now when Simon Peter heard that it was the Lord, he put on his outer garment (for he had removed it), and plunged into the sea.” (John‬ ‭21‬:‭7‬)

Here we see seven disciples go back to what they once did. This was after Jesus commanded them to remain in Jerusalem until they were clothed with power (Luke 24:49)… They fished through the night and caught nothing, as they were doing what they wanted to do in their own strength, Jesus was not with them…

Jesus then shows up at dawn and calls out to them inquiring of their catch, to which they reply they have nothing. Look at the wonderful mercy of the Lord! He still comes and pursues when we’re in the wrong place! Now Jesus gives them the insight they need to prosper, they obey and they experience the catch!

Pay attention here, through this John immediately recognizes the voice of the Lord and says “It is the Lord”, how did Peter miss the voice of Jesus himself? “He put on his outer garment”, Peter was naked, and now think who was naked in the Garden, and what caused their nakedness? Guilt and shame!

See how condemnation can hinder our ability to hear the voice of the Shepherd!

So now the case is closed. There remains no accusing voice of condemnation against those who are joined in life-union with Jesus, the Anointed One.” (Romans‬ ‭8‬:‭1‬)

Just like Jesus left the grave clothes in the tomb so should you! Behold, ALL things are new!!!
