Manna- 6/13/24

Now on the first day of the week, when the disciples came together to break bread, Paul, ready to depart the next day, spoke to them and continued his message until midnight.” (Acts‬ ‭20‬:‭7‬)

This verse begins the story of the young man Eutychus who ends up falling asleep, causing him to fall to his death and the Lord resurrects him.

If we look closely we will begin to see some keys in this passage that are also found in the parable of the ten virgins in Matthew 25.

Seven Keys:

1. Continued/delayed/prolonged

2. Midnight

3. Lamps- a few translations say “flickering”

4. Window/door

5. Slumber/sleep

6. Resurrection

7. Wedding feast/communion

Do you see it??? I’m going to leave it right here and ask the Holy Spirit to continue revealing the picture to you! Show them blessed Holy Spirit!!!

The name Eutychus means “fortunate” and this is a big nugget in this as well!

However, there is also a warning found here. This young man was sitting in the window (the entry place), and because he was not "all the way in" he became drowsy, fell asleep, and fell outside!

"Then I was given a reed like a measuring rod. And the angel stood, saying, “Rise and measure the temple of God, the altar, and those who worship there. But leave out the court which is outside the temple, and do not measure it, for it has been given to the Gentiles. And they will tread the holy city underfoot for forty-two months." (Revelation 11:1-2)
