MRE- Romans 8:27

Romans 8:27 (NKJV)
“Now He who searches the hearts knows what the mind of the Spirit is, because He makes intercession for the saints according to the will of God.”

The one thing I asked the Lord for early on was something I read in the Word of God and it got a hold of me. It’s five words at the end of Luke 11:1, “Lord teach us to pray”, and let me tell you in has been a journey.

I started with what many do and that was the “list”, all of the things I needed (or so I thought), it had the typical Lord save so and so, and so and so, Lord send me money for this and that. However, it felt empty and as I pressed in He said “can we get past the needs, I have those covered”, and the Holy Spirit confirmed it by giving me scripture.

Matthew 6:25-34 (NKJV)
“Therefore I say to you, do not worry about your life, what you will eat or what you will drink; nor about your body, what you will put on. Is not life more than food and the body more than clothing? Look at the birds of the air, for they neither sow nor reap nor gather into barns; yet your heavenly Father feeds them. Are you not of more value than they? Which of you by worrying can add one cubit to his stature? “So why do you worry about clothing? Consider the lilies of the field, how they grow: they neither toil nor spin; and yet I say to you that even Solomon in all his glory was not arrayed like one of these. Now if God so clothes the grass of the field, which today is, and tomorrow is thrown into the oven, will He not much more clothe you, O you of little faith? “Therefore do not worry, saying, ‘What shall we eat?’ or ‘What shall we drink?’ or ‘What shall we wear?’ For after all these things the Gentiles seek. For your heavenly Father knows that you need all these things. But seek first the kingdom of God and His righteousness, and all these things shall be added to you. Therefore do not worry about tomorrow, for tomorrow will worry about its own things. Sufficient for the day is its own trouble.”

Philippians 4:19 (NKJV)
“And my God shall supply all your need according to His riches in glory by Christ Jesus.”

Then as I would go into prayer I would sit and wait and all of the sudden someone’s name would hit me, but I wouldn’t have words and so I would just say “Lord I lift so and so put to your throne, I ask in Jesus name help them.” Then one day I heard “Come up here, there is more.”

This was about the time I was seeking the Lord for the Baptism in the Holy Spirit. Now this is a whole testimony in itself, and I’ll save that for another time. Just know His Word is true and it’s a gift for every believer!

So I would then find myself still in that place of lifting peoples name to Him, but then as I came to the end of my words I would feel this swelling inside me and as I would yield to it I would begin to pray in tongues and I knew the Holy Spirit was using me in that moment. The times always vary how long it would be for the specific person or situation. Then one day I heard it again “Come up here, there is more.”

Now came where those extended times praying in the Spirit I would begin to get little interpretations of what the Holy Spirit was speaking. It would be scripture and so I would begin to go there, read it, write it down, and what I would find is the Lord giving me a prophetic picture through the Word. Sometimes it’s for me, my family, sometimes it’s for someone else, and sometimes I know it’s a message for the Body of Christ! In my opinion there’s a lot of people prophesying but few who are backing up what they are saying with scripture. In my journey He has always given me scripture to confirm the word given. Still, His voice came to me and said “Come up here, there is more.”

This is now where I am on this journey and I’m finding myself in a place of prayer where the best words I can use is I feel as if the Lord takes His heart and puts it in my chest and I get a small dose of what He feels. At times there’s joy unspeakable, wonderful peace, but currently there is much feeling of grief, sorrow, and a broken heart. All I can say is when I feel that breaking feeling IT HURTS! And let me tell you it’s not always in the secret place when that comes. It’s come in public, during service, and many times when praying over someone directly. These are the groanings, and yet I know “there is more”!

Prayer is such a deep moment in the presence of the Lord, and it’s what He wants all of His children to encounter! So no matter where you are in your prayer life, know “there is more.”! Keep seeking, keep leaning in and yield yourself to the Spirit and watch what He will do!

I love this quote from Brother Leonard Ravenhill:
“No man is greater than his prayer life. The pastor who is not praying is playing; the people who are not praying are straying. We have many organizers, but few agonizers; many players and payers, few pray-ers; many singers, few clingers; lots of pastors, few wrestlers; many fears, few tears; much fashion, little passion; many interferers, few intercessors; many writers, but few fighters. Failing here, we fail everywhere.”

Blessings in Jesus Name!!!
