Word Received 4/27/24

This morning as I was reading through the Book of Mark, the Holy Spirit began to speak this “What you see is what you’ll do”. The passage below is another example best read from the end to the beginning (Isa. 46:10) to see the progression related to the above statement.

If your hand causes you to sin, cut it off. It is better for you to enter into life maimed, rather than having two hands, to go to hell, into the fire that shall never be quenched— where ‘Their worm does not die And the fire is not quenched.’ And if your foot causes you to sin, cut it off. It is better for you to enter life lame, rather than having two feet, to be cast into hell, into the fire that shall never be quenched— where ‘Their worm does not die, And the fire is not quenched.’ And if your eye causes you to sin, pluck it out. It is better for you to enter the kingdom of God with one eye, rather than having two eyes, to be cast into hell fire— where ‘Their worm does not die And the fire is not quenched.” (Mark‬ ‭9‬:‭43‬-‭48‬)

The eyes and ears are the direct entry ways into the soul. Scripture tells us, “Keep your heart with all diligence, For out of it spring the issues of life.” (Proverbs‬ ‭4‬:‭23‬). Jesus drives this home when He says, “What comes out of a man, that defiles a man. For from within, out of the heart of men, proceed evil thoughts, adulteries, fornications, murders, thefts, covetousness, wickedness, deceit, lewdness, an evil eye, blasphemy, pride, foolishness. All these evil things come from within and defile a man.” (Mark‬ ‭7‬:‭20‬-‭23‬)

Beloved, who and what you allow your ears and eyes to be set upon will directly influence what is in your heart! Your words and actions are then the manifestation of what’s truly hidden in your heart! “A good man out of the good treasure of his heart brings forth good; and an evil man out of the evil treasure of his heart brings forth evil. For out of the abundance of the heart his mouth speaks.” (Luke‬ ‭6‬:‭45‬)

Example, if you continually focus upon news, social media, and things of these sorts your thoughts and words will be filled with anxiety, worry, and fear. These are all contrary to what Jesus desires our thoughts and words be saturated with.

Really step back and evaluate the conversations you have with others daily, be them in person, text, phone, etc. What kind of things do you find yourself speaking of? Is it about Jesus, His Kingdom, His way, etc? Or is it filled with the things of the world??? Only when we are honest and transparent before the Lord can change be welcomed and genuine transformation received!

How do we align ourselves with the Lord Jesus? Scripture says, “My son, give attention to My words; Incline your ear to My sayings. Do not let them depart from your eyes; Keep them in the midst of your heart; For they are life to those who find them, And health to all their flesh.” (Proverbs‬ ‭4‬:‭20‬-‭22‬)

Purpose yourself to stop beholding anything and everything lesser than Jesus and His word! Allow your mind to be washed and renewed with Truth, as this is the only way to find and live in true freedom!
