This morning as I was fellowshipping with the Holy Spirit in the Book of Malachi as I came to the verse below He brought me to a pause and began to stir the rest below.

I pray you hear what the Spirit is speaking to you!

“For the lips of a priest should keep knowledge, And people should seek the law from his mouth; For he is the messenger of the Lord of hosts.” (Malachi‬ ‭2‬:‭7‬)

“But you are a chosen generation, a royal priesthood, a holy nation, His own special people, that you may proclaim the praises of Him who called you out of darkness into His marvelous light;” (‭‭1 Peter‬ ‭2‬:‭9‬) ‭

“and has made us kings and priests to His God and Father, to Him be glory and dominion forever and ever. Amen.” (Revelation‬ ‭1‬:‭6) ‭

“And have made us kings and priests to our God; And we shall reign on the earth.” (‭‭Revelation‬ ‭5‬:‭10‬)

“Blessed are the meek, For they shall inherit the earth.” (Matthew‬ ‭5‬:‭5‬) ‭

What is meekness?

Most think meek is the same as weak. But that's not what this word means in the scripture. The Greek word for "meek" is a word that suggests the taming of a wild animal. So if you were to take a wild horse, break it and teach it to obey the commands of the rider, the taming of that horse would be in turn making it meek. This training regimen doesn't remove the strength and vigor that makes the animal powerful; yet what is does is places that same power under control!

The term most use referring to taming a horse is "breaking"

The primary purpose is to break the individual will of the horse so that it will obey the will of its master (did you catch that?), and highest level of training for a horse is known as "Dead Broke". This means it is completely broken in and can be ridden anywhere at anytime for any purpose!

So Biblically speaking, meekness is to be understood as letting Jesus be fully in control. It does not mean that you are weak, timid, lacking courage or boldness. It means that your strength is now under another's authority. Meekness is when you are wise enough to surrender control of your strength and life over to Jesus even when it doesn't make sense.

When you walk meek before the Lord Jesus you allow the place and process He has you in to have its full work.

What did Matthew 5:5 say, "The meek shall inherit..."

Inheritance isn't earned it's given on basis of relational trust. If we strive in our own strength (Zech. 4:6) to get where Jesus wants to take us we'll be forced to live in continual striving in order to keep it!

This reminds me of what Psalms 127:1 says, “Unless the Lord builds the house, They labor in vain who build it; Unless the Lord guards the city, The watchman stays awake in vain.”

Beloved, those who reign in the Kingdom do so from a lowly and meek posture!!!
