“But I fear, lest somehow, as the serpent deceived Eve by his craftiness, so your minds may be corrupted from the simplicity that is in Christ.” (2 Corinthians‬ ‭11‬:‭3‬) If you dig into this, as scripture is clear in so many places that following Jesus isn’t “easy”. As in our language we tend to lean that if something is “simple” it’s “easy”. Simplicity here means singleness, without ulterior motive, pure, sincere, and unambiguous.
